Day 1: ARRIVE IN COCHIN

Arrive at Cochin and transfer to the hotel. After refreshments we set out to explore the landmarks like Dutch palace, St. Francis church and Jewish synagogue

Day 2: COCHIN TO THATTAKKAD

Drive to Thattekkad and stay at the spectacular eco-lodge on the banks of the river Periyar. Thattekkad is located perfectly blend into the forest, so you can enjoy your own private jungle and the spectacular view of the river Periyar.

Day 3: THATTAKKAD TO PERIYAR / THEKKADY

Rise early to visit Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary is one of the richest bird habitat in peninsular India One should see the rare Mottled Wood Owl, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Malayan Night Heron, Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Rusty-tailed Flycatcher, Grey-headed Bulbul and the Nilgiri Wood Pigeon. Continue your travel towards Thekkady that is located in the Idukki district. The very sound of the name conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations.
This afternoon board a small boat for the chance to cruise the lake at the heart of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. From the tranquility of the lake, enjoy the lush scenery all around you and keep a look out for animals that may come down to the water's edge – maybe a family of elephants, scurrying Wild Boar or the magnificent Sambar Deer

Day 4: PERIYAR (TIGER TRAIL)

Take delight in adventurous trekking and camping programme (Tiger trail) . The programme is unique in being conducted by Periyar Tiger Reserve Forest Department and a team of rehabilitated poachers and tree cutters of the park hardy and dependable individuals with an intimate knowledge of the forest terrain.

Here, one may chance to encounter much indigenous wildlife like Nilgiri langur, giant squirrel, elephant and who knows, even the tiger!

Day 6: PERIYAR TO COCHIN

Depart to Cochin airport to connect your onward flight
