Today we will be riding to Thiruvannamalai viaGingee fort. It is much more popular for its temples than forts. The fort is the “most impregnable fortress in India" and it was called the "Troy of the East" by the British. We then ride to Thiruvannamalai. After an early morning breakfast, we head for the two caves high up on the Arunachala hill namely Skandashramam and Virupaksha Cave where RamanaMaharshi had spent 23 years before moving down to the foot of the hill which is now known as Ramana Ashram. The peaceful ambience of the cave instantly brings a calming effect on the visitors who reach there after a strenuous trek. Then we will be riding to Pondicherry. This Indo – French town is known for its mixed culture, colonial buildings, Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the international village called Aurovile. Overnight at Pondicherry
After you enjoy this multicolored town we head to Auroville. Aurovilleaspires to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony above all differences. The meditation chamber, shops and galleries are really interesting. Then you are going to ride to Mamallapuram via the scenic ECR Road.
